Polynesian tattoo help?
ok, i was just wondering everyones thinks about Polynesian style tattoos? I understand that tribal tattoos are looked at (by most people with REAL tattoos) as dumb and meaningless, but are polynesian tattoos looked at the same way? I personally hate tribal stuff (no offense to people with tribal tattoos) but for some reason really like Polynesian stuff, I like that along with looking sick, they actually have really deep meaning too. I was just wondering if I’d be looked at as a tool if i got one.
my stance on tribal tattoos (ANY tribe, including polynesian) is that unless you are a member of that tribe, desended from a member of that tribe, or you spent time living with that tribe and one of its members is applying it to you, then dont get it
like, dont think im racist or anything, cause im soooo not. i lived in hawaii for a while so i know the polynesian style quite well. its just that when your like, the whitest white boy out there and youve got a tribal tattoo, it just SCREAMS tool

i love polynesian style tatts!! i think theyre much nicer than tribal. there is a huge range of differant types of polynesian tatts. i love the fact that theyre not so common like tribal and the fact that they are alot less harsh! i like the way they have swirl designs left in skintone and particularly like the ones that have patterns in side the line work oppose to solid black.
saying that you shouldnt get one if your not from that area etc is like saying if your not asian you souldnt get an asian style tattoo or chinese writing etc or only irish people etc. should have celtic style tatts!
. if you were to stick to that principle you would limit yourself severly to what tattoos you could have!!!
if you like them go for it!!!
