what other ways are a tattoo being tattooed on the body?

my friend told me this "that tattoo will look good in ink"
but are’nt all tattoos done in ink? wad other liquid of stuff are being used? can u tell me more about old school tattoos.. or whatever thats called. Something old school.

traditional tattoos were done with ground charcoal/ash as well as with gunpowder for black and natural plant pigments for color. finding people who still use this method is very difficult and usually involves traveling to africa, south america or australia and looking for small tribes who still do the traditional "manhood" tattoos. these tattoos are very prone to infection and modern needles and sterilization techniques are not used. these are done with a single metal or bone needle or with razors (ink rubbed into the open cuts)
