Help me find a safe good place to get a tattoo!?

or tattoo artist, I’ve got big ideas..along the lines of almost traditional style, mixed with 50’s old school tattoos..sounds sweet ehh? anyy quallllity place in the north texas reeeegion?

I wouldn’t take advice off the internet. Instead I would actually go to the local tatt shops and check them out myself. Look into the artist portfolios, make sure it’s clean and sterile, talk to the artists so they understand your vision, and make sure you’re comfortable with wherever and whomever you choose.

Can somebody please tell me the difference between "Old school" and "New school" tattoos?

I’m not entirely sure of the difference!!

Thanks
xx

Old school American Traditional tattoos uses 1/3 Black shading 1/3 of another basic color usually red, blue, or green and 1/3 skin tones.
Google Sailor Jerry or Ed Hardy for example.
New school tattoos are all the tattoos you see with crazy vibrant bright color and soft outlines.
Google Russ Abbott, Josh Woods, Joe Capobianco, Mike Devries.
I perfer new school tattoos just because I think they show more of artist capability and talent but like any tattoo enthusiast traditional is the heart that all of this came from and I have a lot of respect for sick ass traditional tattoos.

What do you think of the old school love letter tattoos?

Yeah, I love them, because they fit the old school style but they aren’t overused like all the other designs. I’m getting one on my forearm.

Very unique now, not seen a whole lot these days.

Do you like Old School / Traditional style tattoos?

I love them, I have two old school pieces in my sleeve, it willl be all old school(ish).
To get a good example of Old School, look up a fine man named Sailor Jerry. One of my tats is based on one of his flash ideas.

Basically, I like all tattoos (well I have some problems with tribal). What I like best about traditional style tattoos is that almost all of the them have meaning. A person who was well versed in the traditional style could look at someones tattoos….their colors…..their locations and immediately tell alot about the person wearing them. Nowadays most people who wear traditional wear them because they like the way it looks and not for the hidden meanings. The reason I won’t ever get a traditional tattoo is the "flat" look that most of them have. I like a tattoo that tricks the eye ….that has a more 3 D look to it. But that’s my personal choice and thank goodness everyone doesn’t like the same style……Its the variety that makes tattoos interesting

Old school vs. New school tattoos?

What is the difference between old school and new school tattoos. I have seen many pictures of both kinds and the look relatively the same. Please don’t say ones old and ones new. Thanks!
Didn’t I say not to tell me ones old and ones new? Stop answering questions you don’t know the answer to just to get points…

Old school and new school tattoos are very similar in design, so you’re not alone in being unsure about exactly makes one old vs. new. Both use bold outlines and bright color. Old school had more defined rules to follow. The meaning and symbolism was a little more set, and it tended to revolve around flash that hung on the shop walls. A sparrow was a sparrow, pretty much wherever you went.

The best explanation I can come up with for new school is to take those old school concepts and add a graffiti flair. More options in ink and colors plus better equipment allow for effects that weren’t possible. So a new school design of that sparrow will still use bold outlines and color, but will have a new twist. Does that make any sense?

what tattoo shop is the best place to get my first tattoo?

a place where they can do really good tattoo portraits and the classic old school tattoos and Pinup Girls Tats as well….Any suggestions

All or Nothing, Walk the Line, and Pain and Wonder are all great, but I don’t think you live where I do.

i want to get a tattoo of a old school movie projector on my arm?

like i said a tattoo of a old movie projector on my arm then i want a silowet of a scene from casa blanca (a favorite movie of mine) to be playing out of it then have some scenes of some of my other favortie movies in the background (like the car in goldfinger that 007 drives cause i like james bond films, a chewed up baseball from the movie sandlot, a picture of a plane from pearl harbpor, etc)

If you wana know why i wana get something like this its just cause im really into movies and tattoos this will be my third.

Finally my question is has anyone seen a tattoo of a projector like that or have any ideas how to draw it on someones arm????

p.s. dont tell me to go to my tattoo artist and ask him i like to draw something myself then bring it to him

that is awesome.
i may have to steal your idea for part of my sleeve or something
im thinking u could do the projector sideways on your upper arm and then have the scene on the inside of your forearm or something like that. or you could get the projector on your left arm, facing right, and get the scene on your right arm or something.
‘course now that i think of it, you could get an armband that looks like film, maybe with scenes from casablanca showing in the negatives(depending on how talented your artist is). i love your idea though

what other ways are a tattoo being tattooed on the body?

my friend told me this "that tattoo will look good in ink"
but are’nt all tattoos done in ink? wad other liquid of stuff are being used? can u tell me more about old school tattoos.. or whatever thats called. Something old school.

traditional tattoos were done with ground charcoal/ash as well as with gunpowder for black and natural plant pigments for color. finding people who still use this method is very difficult and usually involves traveling to africa, south america or australia and looking for small tribes who still do the traditional "manhood" tattoos. these tattoos are very prone to infection and modern needles and sterilization techniques are not used. these are done with a single metal or bone needle or with razors (ink rubbed into the open cuts)

which old school tattoos look good on men i am 20 and of slim build?

Tattoos are a matter of personal opinion so you should choose your own. You already know you want old skool so you are half way there. Here is a link to some 500+ pages I have collected of what is called tattoo flash.
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=139534766&albumId=1614245
there are a lot of old skool pics in there.

I should add that I did not draw these myself. I merely collected them from the internet to help people with Ideas. I personally to not like to shoot flash exactly as you see it. I will take the idea and evolve it into something specific for each client.
