Ask your artist to see his/her flash work. Alot of it’s bound to be really nice or alternatively if you’re determined not to have flash work done you could always google images to see some work too. Most artists will work with you if you have your own design.
I really want to get a tradition polynesian tattoo. I also would like to get it done using the traditional Technic. Are there any website out there I could check out. old school = look up sailor jerry or artist like jeff zuck(alot of harsh lines and dark (black) shadding)

A lot of artists refuse to do tribal anymore. It’s boring and old news. I don’t do tribal in my shop, and if a potential client doesn’t like it, they are free to leave. I agree with the other person who responded, tattoo artists don’t want to be know for tribals, it’s kind of embarrassing.
