Mouth Grillz 101

So you have realized that the piercing, the nose ring, and the tattoo have become all too common. It is time then to get seriously wacky. And what will help you stand apart from the crowd? Let your teeth do the talking – ah those neglected, ignored accessories that we use when we eat. What about them?

If you haven’t paid attention to your teeth beyond the daily brushing and flossing, now is the time to use them for – yes – making a fashion statement. Think you have sparkling teeth? Wait until you use mouth grills to understand what it is to have positively dazzling teeth!

A mouth grill is a decorative piece worn over the teeth. The norm is to wear a mouth grill over your top teeth. But hey, who says you have to follow the norm? You can also wear your grill over the lower set.

From a hygiene as well as comfort perspective, it is best to go in for custom made grills. The starting point for having your own custom mouth grill is to take an imprinted dental mold of your teeth. To get an accurate mold, all you have to do is bite down into the mold, keep your mouth still for about a minute, and then, after removing the mold very carefully, let it dry completely.

You can purchase your custom grill kit online, and then make the mold on your own. These custom grill kits usually cost about $10 to $15 a piece. You can then send the imprinted mold to the company of your choice, in order to create the grill. The company will then send back the grill to you via mail.

Alternately, you can visit a local grill seller who will get the grill custom fitted to your teeth. Immediate adjustments are also possible when you are using this option.

Just ensure that the shop or company that you choose has a good reputation, and provides quality products. You don’t want a grill that is soldered together – it may come apart within weeks. Your grill should consist of one single solid piece.

Customizing your grill involves first deciding on the metal that will be used. You can choose among gold, silver, and platinum. You can also further decorate the grill with small jewels or rhinestones.

What else can you do to give your grill that extra special personal touch? You can have your name (or somebody else’s name) engraved, molded, or accented with diamonds across the front of the grill. If that does not appeal to you, you can add charms and shapes to the grill. Use your imagination (or the internet) to identify what you like, and what symbols go well with the personality you want to portray – dollar signs, fangs, peace signs, flower shapes and hearts are some of the options.

Do not compromise on hygiene when using grills. Remember that grills should never be worn when you are eating or sleeping. Take care of your teeth as usual – you want the grill to decorate your teeth, not ruin them!

Pictures of Tattoos

It is difficult choosing a new tattoo. Most people browse pictures of tattoos to get an idea of which style of tattoo they would like in the first place. You could probably guess that a quarter of all people have a tattoo today and are becoming increasingly common in this day and age.

It can be quite a challenge picking the tattoo you have always dreamed of. Some people have an idea of what they want while others don’t know. All they know is that they want some ink. These people can research pictures of tattoos from magazines, books and websites. By browsing tattoo designs you will always find something that you are interested in. Once you have found what you are looking for you must book an initial consultation with your tattoo artist and they will help you with your dream tattoo. Remember to try and take pictures of tattoos that you are interested in for your consultation. It is also worthwhile to visit more than one tattoo parlour for more opinions.

Your criteria for choosing a tattoo artist should never be based who is the cheapest. The cheapest is usually a sign that they may lack quality in their work and this maybe the reason why they charge a cheaper price. By selecting the more expensive tattoo artist you will almost ensure the design and quality will be worth it. A high quality tattoo artist will always be in great demand and you may need to wait a while before they can see you.

With all that being said, a lot of your tattoo research will be entirely based on searching websites. The problem with this is that designs of free websites and forums start to look a little generic and there are not many designs and styles to look at. Sometimes you can’t find a design which is truly unique. This is where tattoo subscription websites come in. On these websites you can browse through many thousands pictures of tattoos that will help you decide the design you want. Always take time selecting your ideal tattoo as it will stay with you forever.

Check out the tattoo website featured in this Squidoo lens. Visit the Pictures of Tattoos lens. Choose from thousands of tattoo designs in every style imaginable.

Tattoolapalooza Tattoo Convention – Miami Beach July 2009

The Miami edition of the Tattoolapalooza Tattoo convention at the Miami Beach convention center on July 2009.
My thanks to all people that participate in this film (knowingly or not), to the crew of the convention that put up a great show, and of course, to the artists that not only make this possible, but also makes us tattoo lovers!!

Super special thanks to my editor Gabriel (from SuperZebraMedia), who not only did an amazing job editing this piece , but also had huge amounts patience while working with me (i’m kinda “not easy”). Thanks Gabi!!!

Go Green With Id Card Printing

There are a number of ways to keep the environment in mind when you are planning your ID supply and equipment purchases.  A little research can turn up interesting details about advances in sustainability throughout this industry.  We will start with a look at consumables for use with your existing card printer and finish up with a brief overview of what to look for when you are buying a new machine.

The easiest way to make earth friendly upgrades is by changing what type of card stock you purchase.  100% recycled PVC is available in a standard 30 mil thickness and can be used for any application you would normally use virgin PVC for.  Purchasing this type of item supports the recycling industry and makes it more affordable for recyclers to continue to provide these products.  An even more popular option is eco-friendly corn based material.  The particular variety of corn used is not diverted from our food chain and manufacturing requires up to 50% less fossil fuel than standard PVC production.  These biodegradable cards offer the same high quality printing surface you are accustomed to, so you don’t have to “settle for less” to reduce your environmental impact.

More Tips:

1. Look for clear badge holders manufactured from recycled PVC and lanyards woven from bamboo fiber or post-consumer PET for your accessories.

2. Organizations like Earth911 can help you find a recycler for your obsolete plastic ID products, so make a point of collecting any badges that are no longer needed so the materials can be sent to a reclamation facility. Remember to cut up any items that have identifying information on them.

3. Laminate or apply a topcoat to all your cards to increase their longevity.

Industry Leaders: When it comes to environmental commitment, there are a couple of companies that stand out from the rest.

Evolis offers the Tattoo Rewrite printers, which allow you to reuse materials over and over again by erasing and reprinting the thermo-sensitive surface of specially designed cards.  Their Pebble units incorporate “ribbon saver” technology, which conserves monochrome ribbon by using the minimum length necessary for each print job.  This European company complies with strict guidelines regarding the use of hazardous substances in its products (RoHS compliance).  They are also up to speed with the related Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment directive (WEEE) for managing the safe disposal of used electronic devices.  Evolis boasts solar energy and rainwater harvesting at its headquarters and daily selective waste sorting in both manufacturing and administrative departments.

Zebra (formerly Eltron) practices full disclosure with its 12 page Corporate Product Material Content Policy.  End users will be glad to know that they can check to see the full list of hazardous substances excluded from use in the manufacturing process.  Zebra holds suppliers of parts and raw materials to the same exacting standards in an effort to keep their supply chain free of pollutants such as ozone depleting substances and heavy metals.  Packaging materials from this company are also marked with appropriate recycling symbols to make it easy for you to keep up the good work by reducing waste at your office.  The corporation has its own recycling program in place to accept used Zebra cartridges at its Illinois facility if you are willing to pay the postage.

How Tattoos Create the Cutting Edge at the Barber Shop

Copyright (c) 2009 Kennedy’s All-American Club

When you step into a salon or barber shop, you naturally expect all the styling to take place on your head. But take a close look at what your locks are being trimmed with – or what your face is being shaved with – it might just take your breath away along with your hair.

The Freebird Shears company has just launched a new line of innovative hair stylist tools that are specially designed to showcase the haircutter’s personality in addition to functioning as finely-crafted state-of-the art shears and razors.

These weird and wonderful implements were created after years of research and development by a 4th generation German Master Craftsman named Maurice Stoll (who interestingly enough, also apparently has a Master Mind – he’s a winner of the USA National Memory Championship four years back, and no, you won’t find that event being broadcast on ESPN).

Stoll had the genius to team up with Elvis Crocker, a leading American tattoo artist, who is responsible for inspiring the distinctive patterns that are intricately cut into the handles, giving the Freebird Shear line an amazing one-of-a-kind look.

The shears are hand-forged from the world’s finest steels to give them top-of-the-line quality – and stylists are also able to adjust them to their individual hand size and grips with variable screws and hand rests. They can also be custom-ordered in terms of colors, length and different handle options.

You’d expect such designs as “The Star of Elvis,” “Dancing Dolphins,” “The Dragon” and “Skull and Crossbones” to show up on someone’s arm (or other body part), rather than on the handle of scissors being used by a barber to snip away at your head. But, you’d have to know you’re in the hands of one cool cutter if he laid out the big bucks for Freebird Shears. A top-of-the-line “Platinum” pair goes for a whopping $599 – but the product itself is a shear delight.

Modern versions of the barber shop experience, however, are big business and expensive extras like the Freebird Shears enhance that experience. For example, some Barber Clubs are incredibly successful with their combination of classic barber shop features such as the straight razor shave with modern grooming aids and amenities.

Be sure to check out the video showcasing all the Freebird Shear designs at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XELCW0QTrio . You’ll instantly see why these haircutting instruments are definitely a cut above the norm.

Iguana Tattoos – True Meaning Revealed

Considerations to be made prior to Acquiring an Iguana Tattoo

When you begin contemplating acquiring an iguana tattoo, the consequences of this action should be deliberated upon. Factors to be considered prior to getting an iguana tattoo may include some of the following:

Meaning
Lizard tattoos, which include iguana tattoos, are a symbol of the search for light by the human soul. Other symbolisms are also associated with the iguana tattoo. Prior to getting this tattoo, its corresponding meaning should be well known to you. One should search for a tattoo whose meaning has some relevance to you.

Iguana tattoos, like any other permanent tattoos, are painful to get and equally painful to remove. One should make the pain endured in getting a tattoo meaningful and is should symbolize a significant thing or occurrence in ones individual life. It should be noted that ones interpretation of the meaning of the tattoo may differ from the general interpretation. However, personal interpretation is the one with greater significance.

Individuality
A few people might be unable to find interpretations of iguana tattoos which have a significant meaning to them. They nonetheless get the iguana tattoo because the creature is of some relevance to them. Whether or not one has traits similar to iguanas does not mean that one likes or dislikes them.

A fair amount of research needs to be carried out before one can conclude that the creature posses traits similar to you. Iguanas are survivors due to the fact that they are up and about when other animals have already withdrawn. They are thus a symbol of survivors and one can get an iguana tattoo if one believes he/she is a survivor.

Appeal
Some people are fascinated by this creature and get tattoos due to this factor. Others who get iguana tattoos are either owners of iguanas which they keep as pets or those individuals who eventually wish to have them. To some people, the iguana is their favorite animal. This opinion is individual to them and very subjective as people have different reasons for liking different animals. These people have a clear attraction to this animal.

Art
After deliberating on individual grounds for getting an iguana tattoo, the final design needs to be decided upon. One can choose a simple design that wouldn’t cause lots of pain or an elaborate design which may have a variety of colors. The latter would astonish everyone who sees it but would cause a great deal of pain when getting it.

Tattoo designs are available on the internet and they can be downloaded and duplicated by tattoo artists in your location. The exact location of the tattoo needs to be determined beforehand. A place that would not put your health in jeopardy and still enhance the beauty of the tattoo should be considered. It is advisable to get different recommendations as to where it should be prior to having the design tattooed.

Positioning
The position it is placed on is of great importance. Some people consider placing the tattoo in places where the contraction of muscles would give the illusion that the creature is moving. This motion would make the tattoo seem lifelike. Teenagers often place their tattoos in concealed places to avoid trouble from their parents or other people who might cause trouble for them should they see the tattoo.

I want too design tattoos..Imm told im a good drawer, Do i listen too others?

Recvetly ive done alot of drawing, as i wanna be a tattoo designer..My friends said the pictures are "awesom" but i dont think they are goood..What should i do?
Nicely pointed out about the spelling errors. But id think id be more careful when tattooing :P x

Go to an art school. If you aren’t in high school yet go to Art and Design or LaGuardia (if your in NY) but else where just try to get an art education whether in school or other means like private instruction or college. No one will let you tattoo them without proper knowledge. You can also try interning for a tattoo artist to learn how and what because it’s not just about being good at drawing, you have to learn about the hygiene procedures that go with putting ink into someones body and training your hands to do what you want them to. It took me a while but I got my hands to execute exactly what I see in my mind, but I do ceramics and weld metal. If you don’t think your drawings are good enough then you have to work on it, but then again many artists are never REALLY satisfied with their work, but seriously try to get a professional opinion. Make a portfolio with like 10 works or more (the more the better and make sure they are your best, you ARE trying to "sell" yourself/ your talent so to speak) so that you can show your skill and then see where you can go from there. Good luck!
